Mepilex Border Flex – The most advanced Mepilex dressing yet

By: Mölnlycke Health Care, June 24 2013Posted in: Wound Care

The Mepilex® Border product range has just become more versatile than ever. With the introduction of Mepilex Border Flex, Mölnlycke Health Care demonstrates its continued commitment to offering customers a wider range of advanced wound care dressings. Mepilex® Border Flex with Safetac® technology is an oval-shaped advanced dressing with specially shaped borders and an absorbent pad with flex technology, which ensures a new level of conformability and adhesive capability. With better adaptation to body contours, Mepilex Border Flex provides a solution clinicians have been waiting for when treating wounds on challenging areas of the body.

Mepilex Border Flex is ideal for treating pressure ulcers, foot ulcers and leg ulcers. Its unique 5-layer, absorbent pad structure with Safetac technology absorbs and retains exudate, keeping the wound environment moist while sealing the wound margins, so that exudate does not spread to the surrounding skin1,2,3. This creates optimal conditions for healing and wound closure.

Thanks to Mepilex Border Flex, the benefits of Safetac can now be applied to the more challenging areas of the body. Its oval shape and carefully designed borders allow for higher adhesive capability. Adding to this is the introduction of flex technology - perforations in the wound pad, which are designed to increase the overall flexibility of the dressing. Mepilex Border Flex is a reliable, all-in-one, advanced dressing that clinicians and patients can trust will stay secure on a wide range of areas on the body.

The original Mepilex Border, the first bordered foam dressing with Safetac technology, was launched in 2001 and has since become a well-established and highly successful product range worldwide. Mepilex Border Flex is the latest and most advanced addition to the range.
