In March 2013 Mölnlycke Health Care announced a collaboration agreement with Chalmers University of Technology to support two Master’s degree students through a scholarship to attend the leading Swedish university’s Biotechnology or Management and Economics of Innovation programmes. Reflecting Mölnlycke Health Care’s strategic focus on developing its presence across Asia Pacific and the Americas, the scholarships were open to applicants from the USA and China.
This week the successful scholars, Bo Peng and Xuebo Wang, were welcomed at Chalmers and will commence their two-year studies in Göteborg. As part of the scholarship arrangements, Mölnlycke Health Care will finance each student’s tuition fees (SEK 280,000 each) as well as provide various forms of work experience opportunities throughout their two-year programme.
Fredrik Afzelius, Director of Human Resources at Mölnlycke Health Care, was part of the delegation that welcomed the students at Chalmers:
“Investing in developing and nurturing young talent from across the world is one of the keys to our future success. People really matter in our company and we are pleased to welcome Bo Peng and Xuebo Wang into our global family. We are looking forward to playing an important role in helping them grow and develop as individuals, as well as supporting their academic and professional development.”
“Funding tuition fees, although significant in financial terms, is only part of the story for us. We are excited about working with these students, providing additional support in the form of mentoring and real-life work experience across our organisation. I also believe our colleagues in Göteborg will benefit from the scholarship, as it gives them greater exposure to the Chinese culture and way of life.”
