Foam dressings Mepilex XT

Innovative foam dressing to take control of a wide range of exuding wounds

Mepilex® XT foam dressings, designed to help take control of a wide range of exuding wounds, is an innovative breakthrough in wound treatment. Exuding wounds pose real challenges for patients and for healthcare providers, and the management of highly viscous exudate is believed to significantly influence clinical outcomes1.

Mepilex XT is the effective choice for managing high viscosity exudate and better outcomes

Mepilex XT handles more fluid2,3 than other foam dressings

Mepilex XT absorbs fluid faster than other foam dressings4,5,6

Mepilex XT's low and high viscosity fluid-management properties4,5 can be used at any exuding wound-healing stage7

Mepilex XT supports longer wear times, leading to fewer dressing changes, better compliance and lower overall cost of care8

Mepilex XT for all exuding wound stages

When almost 1,500 clinicians were surveyed about their specific challenges with managing high viscosity exudate, 80 percent felt most challenged by wound enlargement and delays to healing, dressing wear time and skin maceration1.

Eighty-four percent of those surveyed felt that highly viscous exudate influences clinical outcome1.

Only one in ten clinicians saw their currently used foam dressing as fully effective at managing highly viscous exudate1. High viscosity wounds are, according to clinicians, not only challenging to manage but are distressing for patients. It was with these considerations in mind that Mepilex XT was created.

Mepilex XT with Safetac is designed to be used on a wide range of exuding wound healing stages, protecting skin around the wound9,10, supporting faster healing11,12, and helping to prevent moisture-related complications9. With Mepilex XT you have the power to provide better care and can give patients a better outcome.

  • Absorbs both low and high viscosity fluid3-6
  • Minimises the risk of maceration7, 8
  • Can be used on all exuding wound healing stages3
  • Designed to minimise trauma and pain at dressing change3
  • Can remain in place for several days depending on the condition of the wound
  • Can be cut to size
  • Can be used under compression
